In 1999, Vincent Villuis and Sandrine Gryson, also known as AES Dana and Mahiane, united over a shared passion for the immersive world of electronic music. This collaboration led to the birth of the label. Initially envisioned as a musical portal, Ultimae's mission was to explore and disseminate the diverse expressions of Ambient music far and wide through the production of records and the establishment of an online shop.
