Our multidisciplinary team of MedTech researchers based in Krakow, Poland (former base in Magdeburg, Germany) and Stuttgart, Germany, is developing a concept intended to address an unmet clinical need in intraoperative image-guided procedures. The solution is a handheld compact scanner capable of simultaneous ultrasound and nuclear imaging of the patient inside the operating room.
The first prototypes of the scanner were developed and presented in MedTech exhibitions and conferences, including the Siemens Healthineers Innovation Thinks Tank (ITT) Exhibition, the annual conference of the International Society for Medical Innovation and Technology (iSMIT), and the annual meeting of the German Society for Computer and Robot-Assisted Surgery (CURAC). Now, our team focuses on optimizing and finalizing this prototype and preparing commercialisation of this patented technology.
