At Umoona Opal Mine & Museum we pride ourselves in creating a tailor made special group touring experience to suit every touring demographic. We have an original opal mine from the 1920’s right in the Main Street in town. For groups with more time we also have the Quest Opal Mine out on the Opal Fields for a more in depth Coober Pedy Mining/Noodling/Dining experience. With large underground bunkhouse style accommodation for large or small tour groups, contact us for more info. We showcase all Australian Opal including Coober Pedy Opal,Queensland Boulder Opal, Lightning Ridge Opal,Mintabie Opal and Opal sourced from other fields in Australia. Onsite jeweller to help create your own personal showpiece or choose from our large display of set and unset Opal Jewellery and Opal Stones. Museum,Fossil Display and Opal Shop Open from 8.30 am-5.30pm daily. Experience the 20minute “Story of the Opal” in our underground Cinema as part of our Public Opal Mine Tour 3 times a day or phone and book your private group tour experience.
