We are a group of University of Manitoba students who support women and gender minorities in computer science.
All are welcome to join!
Our biggest event of the year is our Mentor Mingle. This event gives women and gender-diverse students a chance to connect with industry mentors and learn more about the field along with the various cs companies here in Winnipeg.
We also put a big focus on creating outreach programs to encourage students to enter into the Computer Science field, and have worked with CanU these past few years to host game development & web development workshops.
We’ve now got our own UMWICS Lounge in the University of Manitoba. Located at EITC-E2 Room 599.
We continue to strive for creating a welcoming and supportive environment in computer science and offer a safe space for gender minorities.
