At Unamic, we are working on creating a new style of adaptive clothing that combines high percentages of bamboo with cotton. This unique blend provides clothing that is comfortable and durable in all seasons, catering to people from diverse backgrounds, ages, and abilities. Our primary focus is on the disability community, which often struggles to find adaptive clothing that supports all areas of the body, including joints, weaker muscle groups, and unbalanced areas. This includes individuals with minor or major injuries, disabilities acquired throughout their lifetime, or conditions present since birth. We recognize the lack of options available to this community and believe that more needs to be done to address their specific needs. Many individuals find that larger branded clothing outlets primarily use man made materials, which can cause discomfort, itchiness, and lack breathability. This can be particularly problematic for individuals who spend long hours sitting at a desk or are wheelchair-bound with sensitive skin. Additionally, we aim to address the needs of individuals who have been hospitalised or require around-the-clock care for extended periods. For example, we have recognised the discomfort caused by overly tight polyester socks provided for blood flow purposes, which can lead to rashes and discomfort. At Unamic, we believe that our products will revolutionise the market and provide much-needed support to individuals, who have been searching for adaptive clothing that is comfortable and easy to put on and take off, even for amputees. We have carefully considered the root causes and compared various sectors within the health services and fitness industry, catering to different types of Our name is derived from the Ancient Greek word 'Dunamis', meaning ability. We aim to create a community based around confidence and ability. We chose this as we strive to support and provide people of all abilities from a day one beginner to a seasoned professional.
