Underground Power Development (UPD) is a specialist engineering company established in 1996 to meet developers’ needs by providing power and communication infrastructure planning solutions, and design of power schemes for interconnection into Western Power’s & Horizon Power’s Network.
UPD have proudly completed a significant portion of design projects such as new subdivisions, street lighting, retrospective undergrounding and Earth Potential Rise and Low Frequency Induction (EPR/LFI) projects throughout Western Australia. This includes designs for Local Government, Private Developers, Western Power and Horizon Power. Our strong relationship with stakeholders at all levels within Western Power, Horizon Power and Local Government Authorities have allowed us to achieve optimum results for your Clients, always maintaining the highest level of design principles.
UPD has evolved and adapted to market changes to include communications pit and pipe design services. This service also includes the inspection of the communications installation. All design and inspection of communications services are completed in accordance with NBN Co’s New Developments: Deployment of the NBN Co Conduit and Pit Network Guidelines for Developers.
In addition to the recent changes in communications, UPD has also reacted to further market changes by adding battery/solar technologies & street lighting. We are also able to provide design services for private strata power and communication designs, as well as private lighting using the latest technology such as LEDs, control boxes with dimmers for lighting control, WIFI connection, and solar lights etc.
