The University of Comilla

The University of Comilla (UNIC) is one of the best private universities in Bangladesh. It was established in 1995 under the Private University Act 1992 by the Comilla Education Science & Technology Development Trust (COESTDT) - a charitable, non-profitable, non-commercial, and non-political organization. The COESTDT was reformed and renamed as "The University of Comilla Trust” (UNICT) (according to the University Act of 2010) . The Trust is a non-political and non-profitable oriented voluntary organization, organized with the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh under the trust registration Act XXI of 1860 and is currently called The University of Comilla Trust (UNICT). The Trust is comprised of a group of prominent patrons of education, notable philanthropists, eminent industrialists, justices, and widely experienced academic and senior civil servants of the country. In the early 1988 they had a dream to set up a world class University as a center of higher education in the private sector.
