University of Media Arts and Communication

The University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC) is a premier institution dedicated to advancing education, research, and innovation in the fields of media, arts, and communication. It was established under the University of Media, Arts and Communication Act, 2020 (Act 1059), through the merger of three renowned institutions: Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI), and Ghana Institute of Languages (GIL). As a holding university with constituent institutes, UniMAC is empowered to award degrees under its umbrella, creating a unified institution dedicated to shaping the future of media, arts, and communication education in Ghana and beyond. The university’s aim is to provide high-quality higher education, foster research, and contribute to the development of the media, arts, and communication industries in Ghana.
