About University Study Skills Tutoring (incl. ADHD/SpLD)

I have been supporting university level students in the UK with study skills for over 5 years that aim to improve the student's academic performance. Study skills include note-taking, reading skills, essay planning, understanding assignments, presentation skills, IT skills such as Word and PowerPoint functions, academic poster design, report writing, dissertation/independent study planning, writing and presentation. Also, time management skills and motivational strategies are developed. Study skills build over time, so skills for foundation level will develop through the levels to level 4, 5, 6 (undergraduate) and level 7 (master's). The relevant skills are taught at each level. Any subject can be tutored, as these skills are universal across all subjects and universities in the UK. DSA Funded Students Some students may have DSA Specialist Study Skills Support funding for their SpLD or ADHD diagnosis and this provision may be used to fund the study skills support given up to the hours provisioned. Tutoring is based on a regular weekly session to enable study skills to be developed alongside the normal academic schedule. For most students this will fall September to June, but some will have a three semester pattern, such as postgraduates and healthcare undergraduate students that can also be arranged. Study skills tutoring is based on a fixed day/time (by mutual arrangement), one hour per week during a 14 week semester, which includes assignment writing support after teaching may finish for each semester. Daytime, evening and weekend tutoring is possible. Self-funded students The cost for one hour per week over 14 weeks of one semester is £910.00 payable on or before the first day of your university semester. A cancellation policy applies. Tutoring sessions are limited and early booking is recommended, as students may be studying for 5 years or more and existing students have priority.
