Universidade Zambeze (UniZambeze) is a public higher education institution, created by Decree of the Council of Ministers nº 77/2007, of 18 December, with headquarters in the City of Beira, and began its activities on 16 March 2009, being its activities nationwide.
The University's Rectory is located in the City of Beira, capital of the Province of Sofala, with the majority of its scientific activities carried out in this city where courses are taught in the areas of Civil Engineering, Industrial Process Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Law, Economics, Administration, Accounting and Finance. Courses in the areas of Health Sciences, namely Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy, are taught in the City of Tete, province of the same name, where the Agro-Livestock Engineering course is also taught in the Village of Ulónguè, District of Angónia. In the City of Chimoio (Province of Manica) courses in Rural Development Engineering and Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering are offered. The Agricultural Engineering and Forestry Engineering courses are based in the District of Mocuba, in the Province of Zambézia.
