Unnat Group is engaged in poultry feed and equipment business, and also operates breeding and broiler farms across northern India. The group has over the years emerged as an industry leader, with its broiler and layer feed today being sold throughout the country. The company started with its first feed mill 32 years ago, in Panipat, Haryana. Today, the company operates 4 feed mills spread out in the northern, eastern, and central parts of India. The feed mills produce feed for broiler and layer birds, focusing on their stages of development, and making sure that the diet provided is protein rich and caters to their vitamin and mineral requirements, resulting in lowest FCR for broiler birds, and higher productivity in layer birds. The extensive distributor network further ensures that the feed is distributed across all parts of the country.
In 2014, the company stepped into the poultry equipment market, and specialises in manufacturing of automated feeding and drinking systems, ventilation systems, and silos for feed storage. In year 2015, the company established its first broiler farm in Haryana, with a capacity of 1,80,000 birds. The state-of-art broiler farm is fully automated, with close house sheds, and utilises only about 1/3 of the labour force as compared to traditional farms of a similar size. Having set up 3 units, and reached a capacity of 4,80,000, and 3 farms being under construction, we plans to reach a broiler capacity of 10,80,000 by the end of 2018.
In 2016, the company also set up a breeding farm in Karnal, a facility with fully automatic close house sheds, which hold 1,00,000 parent birds. The company, having always been concerned about the environmental footprint, has a biogas plant attached to the facility in Karnal, where all the waste material from the farms is sent to be treated, and then sold as manure to local farmers.
