Auckland University Women in Science (AUWS)

At AUWS, our mission is to connect, uplift, and empower women & gender non-conforming people within the University of Auckland science faculty and beyond. With this ethos in mind, we run a range of events including social/recreation gatherings and professional development opportunities. Our events are open to any student, however each event is designed to be a safe space for genders who are traditionally marginalised within the STEM community. The work we have done to improve connections, support services, representation and empowerment for our AUWS members earned us the Best in Science Award at the University of Auckland Clubs Awards in 2023.
