The University of Toronto Concrete Toboggan Design Team is a design team that builds and races a toboggan with concrete skis, competing against teams from all across Canada for performance in speed, steering, and braking. Our team is a passionate and bright minded group of 30+ students representing disciplines of engineering such as mechanical engineering, civil engineering, material science engineering, and engineering science.
The focus areas of Concrete Toboggan include innovations in concrete mixes, carbon fiber manufacturing, and aerodynamic bodies. The team also has a strong community element, and there is a wide network of past and present team members. Competing in the Great Northern Concrete Toboggan Race provides an invaluable opportunity for our members to apply their classroom knowledge to a practical project.
