Upendo is a mental health movement founded in 2021 with a mission to support individuals through the power of lived experience and meaningful conversation. Inspired by the Human Library concept, we “lend” people as Books, to Readers navigating similar life challenges.
Anyone can be a Book! Everyone deserves to be heard!
At Upendo, we believe in “Care Through Conversation.”We create safe, inclusive spaces where people can share openly, be truly heard, and find renewed hope. Our one-on-one dialogues are built on empathy, peer support, and mutual respect; offering connection, understanding, and healing without judgment.
This is more than a platform; it's a community, a safe space, and a movement. Through mental health education, advocacy, and grassroots peer support, we’re working to reduce the stigma around mental health and accelerate mental wellness, especially among women and young people in Uganda.👥
