The 25-bed, critical access hospital offers dedicated birthing suites, acute care and swing bed rooms. A new, state-of-the-art facility was built in 2008, with 10 physician practices in specialty clinics adjoining the hospital for patient convenience and satisfaction. The hospital is physician-staffed 24 hours a day. UP Health System – Bell offers a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services that include general surgery, as well as orthopedic, gynecological, endoscopic, ophthalmologic, plastic and oral surgery. UP Health System – Bell delivers more than 250 babies per year, has a thriving swing bed program, performs 3,500 surgeries and serves more than 1,300 inpatients and 83,000 outpatients annually. The Emergency Department handles approximately 10,000 cases each year. Ishpeming is located on a dividing ridge between Lake Superior and Lake Michigan in the Central Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
