The UPLB Mathematical Sciences Society (UPLB MASS) is a duly recognized academic organization and youth-serving of University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) and National Youth Commission (NYC), respectively. This recognized academic organization aims to promote deeper appreciation and wider application of Mathematical Sciences in order to contribute to the development of the Filipino nation. The society is composed of BS Applied Mathematics, BS Computer Science, BS Mathematics, BS MST (Major in Mathematics) and BS Statistics students in UPLB.
As a recognized academic and youth-serving organization in UPLB and National Youth Commission (NYC), we cultivate deeper appreciation and wider application of Mathematical Sciences, by fostering academic excellence in the direction of social relevance and by integration and involvement with the rest of the university constituency and with the Filipino masses as well. Therefore, our organization has grown to become one of the strongest recognized academic organization in UPLB.
The organization sponsors the annual Southern Tagalog Invitational Mathematical Challenge (MATHEMATCH).
