518 Sports/The Upstate Courier

518 Sports and The Upstate Courier were online publications dedicated to local news and community sports in New York's Capital District. Dylan Rossiter founded the organization as a sophomore at Maple Hill High School in Schodack, NY. From 2015 to 2019, the predominantly student-run newsroom provided under-served communities with better access to hyper-local sports and breaking news coverage. Rossiter's Villager Media Group suspended local newsgathering operations in 2019 and terminated regional content development in 2021. The website archive remains open to the public with a thank you note of appreciation at the top of the homepage.
