Upstream Prevention, Inc. seeks to support systems-level changes to promote public health, specifically related to the prevention and reduction of youth substance use, the improved mental health of the community, and creating an environment conducive to healthy behaviors for all citizens. In practice, this means we focus on addressing the Upstream and underlying factors that have an impact on each of our lives - with the goal to make the healthier choice the easier choice, and to improve the quality of life of our neighbors. Based in Johnson County, Indiana, we currently have funding to address substance use prevention (across the lifespan), increase mental health awareness and skills through trainings, increased social-emotional learning opportunities and curriculum within schools, and to support suicide loss survivors.
