UpSurgeOn is a MedTech company that focuses on psychomotor skill improvements through life-like simulations, AR/VR, AI and performance data collection. UpSurgeOn was founded in 2017 by two neurosurgeons, Federico Nicolosi, MD, (Founder and CEO) and Giannantonio Spena, MD, (Co-founder) and is headquartered in Milan, Italy, with a second branch in the US. The company is at the forefront of creating sophisticated simulations that are set to initiate a revolution: moving away from learning directly on patients and adopting an approach similar to flight simulators. This involves crafting AI-based coaches and true-to-life surgical scenarios, all aimed at enhancing surgeons' psychomotor skills. The technologies are currently focused on microsurgeries (neurosurgery, plastic surgery, ENT surgery, maxillofacial surgery, and spine surgery) and the company is scaling up to several other surgical disciplines.
