Urk Maritime

The Urk Maritime cluster was formed by a number of ambitious Urk-based companies who are active nationally and internationally in the maritime sector. The cluster’s aim is to put Urk on the map as maritime centre. As well as various promotional activities, the cluster has participated in the Maritime Industry fair in Gorinchem three times and Europort 2017 in Rotterdam, and 2019 coming up. As well as promoting Urk as maritime service centre, the cooperation between companies within the cluster is certainly also bearing fruit. The various Urk-based companies have cooperated and continue to cooperate intensively on a number of large vessel finishing and re-build projects. The owners of the vessels are always extremely satisfied with the work. As companies associated in the Urk Maritime cluster, we can be proud of the activities and projects that we realise together. The fact that these various maritime companies are located on Urk is truly unique. Shipyards, engineering workshops, electricians, vessel joiners, engineers, employment agencies, painters, oil suppliers, maritime software, crowdfunding of nautical equipment; it’s hard to imagine a more diverse group, with almost every supplier in the nautical sector being represented on Urk. That is why more and more maritime activity is finding its way to Urk, especially with a new maintenance harbour coming up in a few years. Work Maritime. Think Urk.
