本公司於1990年成立，1992年設立中國大陸惠州廠。1995年設立香港及德國分公司、同年台灣成立模組二廠、 LCD廠通過ISO9001品質認證。1996年公司股票上櫃，LCM廠通過ISO9001品認證。1997年業務擴張，台灣地區増設第三廠。1998年因應訂單需求，台灣再增設第四廠。2001年通過ISO9001：2000年版品質認證及ISO14001環境認證。為提升服務品質，加強服務海外客戶，當年度於丹麥設立歐洲技術支援中心。2003年取得通過TS16949品質認證。因考量強化品質管理能力，公司於2005年開始推行6 sigma，由上至下全面落實執行，同年設立大型顯示看板生產線，並與海關簽署策略聯盟。2006年取OHSAS18001認證，2007年觸控式面板加入量產行列，2009年再通過TOSHSMS認證。近來著眼於未來產業需求，並加長觸腳投身綠能科技領域，2010年於大陸增設聯瑋光電科技(蘇州)有限公司及台灣台中港加工出口區設立光聯第五廠。
長期以來，本公司就以專業的面板製造技術而活躍於LCD、LCM製造業界，優良的產品品質與卓越的生產技術一直深受消費者的喜愛，公司在致力生產之際，難能可貴的是，公司上下氣氛一片和諧，勞資關係十分良好。不僅內部溝通管道十分順暢，對於人才的重視與員工的培訓更是不遺餘力，歷年來屢獲政府頒發勞資關係優良獎、人才培訓績優獎、友善職場等之認證，是一個以人為本，注重員工發展的優良企業。
