U S WEST is in the connections business. helping customers share information, entertainment and communications services in local markets worldwide. U S WEST consists of two groups. IJ S WEST Communications Group provides telecommunications services to customers in 14 western and mid-western states, while U S WEST Media Group operates the company's domestic and international cable and telephony, wireless and directory and information services businesses. US West merged with Qwest on June 30, 2000, and over time the US West brand was replaced by the Qwest brand. Qwest merged with CenturyLink on April 1, 2011, and the Qwest brand was replaced by the CenturyLink brand.
