USBA (Uniformed Services Benefit Association) offers affordable life insurance for active duty or retired members of the U.S. Military, the Reserves (including I.R.R.) and National Guard, honorably discharged veterans, civilian federal employees and their families. USBA Group Life Insurance plans are underwritten by New York Life Insurance Company. USBA was founded in 1959 to meet the needs of Active Duty military personnel, who at that time had difficulty finding adequate life insurance that would cover combat-related deaths and was one of the first companies to do away with the so-called "war clause" in all of its coverage. USBA is governed by a Board of Directors elected annually by the membership. The Board is comprised of active and retired military members and Federal employees. Our Mission is to provide a family of affordable insurance and financial products and services to military personnel, Federal employees, National Guard and Reserve members, Veterans and their families with the highest ethical standards of conduct and service.
