About USC Unmanned Systems & Robotics Lab

Welcome to the Unmanned Systems & Robotics Lab at the College of Engineering & Computing, University of South Carolina. This is a research lab focusing on the development of autonomous unmanned systems, mostly working on aerial and ground robotic systems. The lab has a fleet of more than 30 aerial drones and features experimental work through extensive field testing. Our aim is to build aerial drones that have advanced capabilities to be used in a variety of inspection applications and beyond the typical visual inspection use. The lab is led by Dr. Nikos Vitzilaios, Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The lab roster also includes several graduate and undergraduate students across the College of Engineering & Computing at the University of South Carolina.
