The Nucleus

The Nucleus is a University of Southern California based science journal with the primary intent of increasing scientific and information literacy within our campus community and the surrounding LA area. Our students will prepare and publish accessible and digestible media that represents a community driven by a desire to have an impact on global well-being. We at The Nucleus believe that a well-informed and scientifically literate society is best equipped to handle the major scientific and technological crises that affect our communities. However, one of the most difficult challenges faced by the scientific community is the dissemination of complex and technical information to the general public. Our intent is to bridge the gap between the two groups, and to share pertinent and valuable insights into how we can better ourselves physically and mentally. We exist at a pivotal moment in history, where the veracity of facts contends with the pervasive spread of misinformation. It is a moment in which science at its most objective and unadulterated level needs to be shared. We at The Nucleus remain dedicated to servicing our student body and aspire to transcend the confines of conventional knowledge, redefining accessibility in science and technology. We strive to ask the right questions, to provide rational answers, and to build a community of writers, editors, graphic designers, and most importantly, readers, who desire the same. We will remain dedicated to serving the USC student body by means of credibility, transparency, and community. Born in 2023, we are currently a new organization, and over the next few years, we intend to cultivate a reading and writing base that will continue to share matters relevant to science and technology for years to come.
