U.S. Mission To Asean

U.S. Mission To Asean company information, Employees & Contact Information

For nearly 50 years, the United States and ASEAN have forged a close partnership that has made America and the nations of Southeast Asia safer and stronger, while creating prosperity for our combined one billion people. Cooperation between ASEAN and the United States is both broad and deep, covering foreign affairs, economics, digital and cyber policy, technology, energy, trade, education, health, security, and defense. The United States was ASEAN’s first dialogue partner to name an ambassador to ASEAN and the first to establish a dedicated permanent mission to ASEAN in Jakarta. We work closely with ASEAN through leaders’ summits, ministerial meetings, technical workshops, and other forums that aim to foster economic growth and resolve geopolitical threats and challenges before they undermine prosperity. ASEAN elevated its relations with the United States to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2022. Since then, the United States has further delivered results to the region by implementing 100 percent of its commitments under the 2021-2025 Plan of Action with ASEAN and its Annex. The United States stands as the region’s largest source of foreign direct investment with more than 6,000 U.S. companies operating in the region. U.S. goods and services trade with the region totaled an estimated $500 billion in 2023. Investment and trade with Southeast Asia currently support 625,000 jobs in the United States. ASEAN is the fifth largest export market for U.S. food and agricultural goods and its digital economy is forecast to reach $2 trillion by 2030. ✅ Making us safer: The United States works closely with ASEAN to promote and preserve a free and open Indo-Pacific. ✅ Making us stronger: The United States partners with ASEAN to foster innovation, strengthen cybersecurity, and deepen people-to-people ties. ✅ Making us more prosperous: The United States and ASEAN are deepening economic ties in pursuit of a fair and reciprocal trade relationship.
