uSTEM is an innovative biotech company in the Padua Area (Italy) residing at the City of Hope's research tower. We offer services concerning human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) generation and differentiation.
uSTEM was founded in September 2016 thanks to the joint venture between OPKO Ireland Limited, a branch of the international healthcare firm OPKO Health, Inc., and the Italian startup company Onyel Biotech s.r.l. The mission was to develop and provide stem cells manufacturing and cellular reprogramming services.
uSTEM s.r.l. is proprietary of a microfluidic reprogramming method, covered by 5 international patents and a Nature Methods pubblication.
uSTEM production includes a feeder-free iPSCs reprogramming service of human somatic cells (fibroblasts, renal epithelial cells) using several reprogramming methods (modified mRNA or Sendai Virus). uSTEM s.r.l. provides standard characterization packages which contain reports on immunofluorescence positivity to the stemness markers.
