UTILE project is a 36-month project funded by the European Defence Fund (EDF), with nine partners from Spain, Ireland, Poland, and Italy.
The project aims to develop several technologies that allow the implementation of circular strategies to recover and reuse different soldier personal protection equipment (SPE) used by different EU Member States' armed forces.
In parallel, UTILE is developing a digital platform, including artificial intelligence (AI)-based Decision Support Systems and blockchain technologies for traceability, circularity, environmental, and cost-benefit analysis considerations for a holistic circular approach to the SPE value chain at the EU level.
