UTM Robocon Team

UTM ROBOCON was established in 2002. Our laboratory is located within the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia campus grounds at the School of Electrical Engineering. Our team comprises of 39 highly enthusiastic and passionate undergraduate students from different backgrounds in the field of robotics, who dedicate themselves to the art of robot fabrication. We have hundreds of alumni from the time of our establishment who come in occasionally to lend a hand and facilitate our advancement in robotics. The team is divided into three main departments: electronic, programming and mechanism. Each department uniquely contributes to the process of making a robot. Everything in our team is organised and maintained by mainly our members, with help from advisory lecturers. Nevertheless, with the dynamic teamwork of our members, UTM ROBOCON has been victorious 9 times in the ROBOCON domestic competition and has represented Malaysia in the International ABU ROBOCON competition for 14 times. Evident in our performance in ROBOCON MALAYSIA every year, it is without a doubt that UTM ROBOCON is one of the best robotic teams in Malaysia. Our current mission is to be the best not only in Malaysia, but also in the whole of Asia. We work to bring Malaysia to new technological frontiers and build capable leaders that can help propel the nation through the 21st century. In the team, UTM ROBOCON members always uphold team values, like working together to achieve the team’s mission and vision and take initiative on executing the tasks distributed. Empowering others is also one of the core values of UTM ROBOCON, with our core belief being “If you want to go fast, go alone; If you want to go long, go together”.
