Centre for Sport, Business and Society

The UTS Centre for Sport, Business and Society (CSBS) is committed to working in partnership with industry, community and government to help grow the sports sector and the quality of sporting experiences at all levels. The Centre is a unique partnership between the UTS Business School and Institute for Public Policy and Governance designed to conduct research and offer consulting and training services focused on creating practical, lasting benefit to sporting organisations, participants and funders. Sports are integral to our health, wellbeing, social cohesion and the economy. In 2023 we saw major sporting achievements from grass roots to international championship levels. However, challenges remain. Whether it is about strategies to increase participation, access facilities, recruit and retain volunteers, modernising governance and leadership, improve accessibility and affordability, or securing long term funding, the Centre is uniquely placed to assist. Being university-based, we are independent, non-profit and offer access to world-class expertise. Above all we are committed to contributing to sport for good.
