Nordsjø Energi AS aim to become the largest producer of clean and reliable baseload power in the North Sea.
The strategy is to bring «backup power» to every MW installed by the offshore wind operators, making onshore power production redundant as it comes to balancing the electricity grid when intermittent sources are not producing.
In addition, the offshore based powerplants are also suited to provide baseload power to offshore installations without the need of a subseacable. This could be all from O&G production, ammonia production, and even offshore datacenters that use a starlink internett connection.
