The Accelerated Master's Program in Systems Engineering at UVA

The University of Virginia Accelerated Master's Program in Systems Engineering (AMP) is designed to enable working professionals to earn their master's degrees in one year while continuing to work full-time. The program has a focus on systems thinking and data analytics, broadly applicable problem-solving skills which are in strong demand. Every two weeks students will take classes synchronously online on Friday and travel to Northern Virginia for classes on Saturday. Two weeks in residence (one week at the beginning of the program in May and another the following April) plus 20 Friday/Saturday weekends leads to a full-fledged master's degree in one year. AMP students study with outstanding faculty from the Department of Engineering Systems and Environment and the Darden Graduate School of Business, the same highly-regarded faculty who teach in U.Va.'s on grounds graduate programs, and they form strong bonds with a cohort of talented classmates. The diverse cohort includes both experienced technical professionals from a wide range of industries and those who wish to transition into leading-edge engineering and information technology positions. The program was established in 1999 and now has an alumni network more than 500 members strong.
