Combating Antibiotic Resistance with Innovation
Antibiotic resistance is a global health threat, according to the World Health Organization. Our project focuses on optimizing the acute diagnosis and medication of urinary tract infections (UTIs). Today, treating UTIs accounts for 15% of the world's antibiotic consumption.
The current urine dipstick test used for early detection of UTIs suffers from low precision, leading to unnecessary antibiotic treatments. We are working on a solution based on state-of-the-art research and lateral-flow assay technology.
Our goal is to enhance the acute diagnosis of UTIs and reduce unnecessary antibiotic prescriptions. Our interdisciplinary team, with strong partners from DTU, OUH, and SDU, is working tirelessly to make a difference in the fight against antibiotic resistance.
