Master of Actuarial Science (MActSc), University of Waterloo

The Master of Actuarial Science (MActSc) is a professional degree designed to prepare strong candidates with quantitative undergraduate degrees for a career as an actuary. No prior study in Actuarial Science is required. Our program has been designated as a Centre of Actuarial Excellence by the Society of Actuaries (SoA), and is accredited by the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) and by the UK Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA). Graduates of our program are able to fast-track their careers with exemptions from up to 4 exams of the CIA and up to 10 exams of the IFoA. In some cases, these may be transferable toward the Society of Actuaries or the Casualty Actuarial Society credentials.
