Inspired by human biology, research at the Institute for Regenerative Medicine (IREM) aims at replacing or regenerating human cells or tissues with the goal to restore or establish normal function. By using its designated clinical translational facilities ranging from Cleanroom Technologies (GMP Center for Therapy Development) to Clinical Trials (Center for Prevention and Dementia Therapy), the IREM mission is to bring basic research into clinical application. IREMs accompanying teaching activities provide students with the essential skills for an efficient translation of scientific innovations into novel therapies. With this comprehensive structure, IREM is unique in Switzerland and beyond.
