VGV is a “micro” venture capital investment fund created to support high-growth, early-stage companies across the state of Ohio, with a preference for those in the Mahoning Valley. Formed in collaboration between five area organizations, VGV serves to aid in the growth of companies in our region and to relocate out-of-region companies to the Mahoning Valley. We leverage the industry expertise, personnel, facilities, talent network and operations of our investment team and partner organizations to produce strong companies and generate substantial returns for our investors.
Our team works closely with startups at their earliest stages to create and build value. First and foremost, VGV is focused on financial returns and has the ability to invest in, and work in partnership with, technology startup companies across Ohio. However, we are also committed to growing local startups at a faster rate, while also encouraging them to stay local. We invest in ourselves because we know the strengths that startups in our region have and know the Mahoning Valley entrepreneurial network is often underserved. Our industries of expertise include B2B software, IT, energy, additive manufacturing, and advanced materials.
