Disruption and uncertainties bring many positives, such as new ideas and efficiencies. However, they can also be unsettling. Value4Risk aims to act as a ‘North Star,’ providing a fixed point for businesses to navigate change and uncertainty. To cope with rising uncertainties and emerging risks, firms, regardless of size, need to build more resilient business models. Value4Risk assists small and medium-sized companies in becoming more resilient and turning emerging risks into opportunities. The idea is that for a firm to thrive, it must have a resilient business model that can withstand black swan events. Instead of resisting crises, resilient companies adapt successfully, as the saying goes, “what does not kill you makes you stronger.” Founded in 2012, Value4Risk is a boutique business consulting company specializing in extreme financial, business, and geopolitical events. In 2015, they expanded to Dallas. Value4Risk’s business model focuses on an untapped market of export-oriented small and medium-sized firms, government agencies, and NGOs. Since these companies lack the resources for a full-blown consulting project, Value4Risk offers services through speaking engagements to groups of companies (e.g., chamber of commerce, academic setting) to raise awareness about emerging risks. Value4Risk embodies a sharing/collaborative company. The team consists of independent consultants who form a knowledge community driven and passionate about emerging risks. This group originates from Rome, Brussels, Paris, Sydney, Dallas, Seattle, and New York and operates as a unified entity when delivering quality research, training, and/or consulting to clients.
