About VAMOS EU
VAMOS stands for ‘Value Added Materials from Organic waste Sugars'. The project aim is to showcase - at demonstration scale - the feasibility of producing and valorising second-generation sugars derived from municipal solid waste (MSW). MSW contains significant quantities of paper and card-based materials from which second-generation sugars can be produced. The overarching goal of VAMOS is to produce competitive, sustainable, affordable and high-performance bio-based materials from low-value waste. VAMOS is a collaborative project involving eleven partners from a variety of industries and specialisations. The project has received funding from the Bio Based Industries Joint Undertaking (JU) under grant agreement No 837771. The JU receives support from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and the Bio Based Industries Consortium.
