Every individual has an interest in having an equal opportunity in their career, in going through a chosen learning path throughout life, finding purpose in their work, feeling empowered, finding trust in colleagues and generally experiencing a feeling of being in the right place at work. Unfortunately, however, this crucial fair opportunity is often deprived for many individuals by inadequate selection methods or subjective/biased decision-making processes within organisations, such as gender stereotypes. The problem does not end with the company's selection procedure. The ambiguity surrounding the work activities, corporate culture and work climate continues to be an issue after hiring the employee. The unfair selection procedure, as well as the importance of an agreement between organisation and employee work values, together will outline the importance of improving the match between potential employee and employer. We acknowledge the practical demand to be able to use a more objective selection procedure. However, we like to respond to the more recent findings from the literature, which in our view does not harm the labour market, but helps both employer and employee. VAG does not see the professional field as a competitive field, but as a dynamic process surrounding the match between supply and demand in the past, present and targeted future of the individual and organisation.
