University of Idaho established the School of Health and Medical Professions (SHAMP) to improve access to health care for Idahoans. Current programs include Idaho WWAMI Medical Education, Doctor of Anatomical Sciences and a Master of Science in Gerontology.
The School of Health and Medical Professions (SHAMP) will provide graduate-level health care education at the University of Idaho. Our mission is to improve the health of the people of Idaho by developing a robust academic health care delivery system that will educate and set forth a skilled workforce of healthcare professionals to attack this critical healthcare shortage.
The WWAMI program is a partnership between the University of Washington School of Medicine and Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho (WWAMI). The University of Idaho has been partnered with the UWSOM since 1972 to help train Idaho’s future physicians.
