Backed by Horizon Europe, VAX4ASF project bets on the potential of live attenuated vaccines to develop an effective, enduring, and secure solution against ASF virus, contributing to animal welfare, global economic stability, and rural communities.
🎯 The goal of VAX4ASF is to provide an effective and safe solution within the next four years (2024-2028) against the highly contagious, unpredictable, and complex ASF virus that affects pigs and wild boars, causing high mortality among the affected animals.
🔬 To address the challenges posed by an innovative vaccination approach, VAX4ASF brings together 17 partners from European Union countries, the United States and Kenya, in an international consortium led by the biotechnological pharmaceutical company HIPRA.
