V D Matthew, our founder started business on the 5th of January 1959 at the age of 23. He started off as a wholesaler selling tobacco, stationary and toiletries.
Samson Matthew started off helping his father from his student days in early 80s. He ventured out independently as a wholesaler of food grains, especially rice, on April 23 1992 founding Valiyaparambil Mercantiles.
V D Matthew and Sons was appointed redistribution stockist of Hindustan Unilever (HUL) on April 3 2003. Since then, has won several awards for best performance under various and diverse parameters. HUL is a subsidiary of Unilever, one of the world’s leading suppliers of fast moving consumer goods which is a part of the everyday life of millions of consumers across India spanning over 20 distinct categories such as soaps, detergents, shampoos, skin care, toothpastes, deodorants, cosmetics, tea, coffee and packaged foods.
