Vegans for Peace UNC-CH

We are UNC’s Vegans for Peace chapter. Our group is open to anyone in the UNC community (students, staff, and faculty) and surrounding Chapel Hill and Carrboro communities interested in veganism. You don't have to be vegan to join! Everyone is welcome. :) Our mission is to promote veganism as an expansive moral philosophy based on nonviolence, love, mercy, equality and justice for all living beings. Our primary goal is to build community, through which we can support, inspire and empower one another to become effective social justice activists. Activities will include potlucks, marches, leafleting, chalking sidewalks, tabling events, volunteering at local farmed animal sanctuaries, hosting speakers, movie screenings, food assistance for those in need and collaborating with local organizations to help others realize the power and promise of veganism. In everything we do, we seek to be peaceful, loving and non-judgmental, realizing that everyone is at a different point in their life's journey. If you have an idea for an event - whether a potluck, a protest, a movie screening, a guest speaker or anything else - please let us know! We want members to feel empowered to take initiatives which will, in turn, inspire others to do the same.
