Back yard coffee is an independent micro roastery based in Sussex.
As a small family owned business, we take pride in our small batch, handcrafted approach to roasting and supplying the highest quality speciality coffee.
Our belief is that every person that is involved in the process of getting coffee from raw bean to your cup, needs to be respected. From the farmers, to our roasters, the businesses we supply and our customers. Starting with the farmers we partner with companies such as Falcon and Mercanta who are paying a premium prices for the hard work and reinvesting in the farming and coffee producing communities.
We carefully select our green beans and occasionally travel to coffee producing countries to meet the farmers to see the entire process ourselves.
Passion is what drives us.
We are passionate about coffee and continually striver to improve our products and our methods. All our staff are trained with the Speciality Coffee Association of America (SCAA) and be Speciality Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE). This includes Roasters, Baristas and Sensory specialists. This combination of people helps us to develop the perfect beans.
