About VEPE Project
Hankkeen kokonaisvaltaisena tavoitteena on tuottaa uutta tietoa vetytalouden mahdollisuuksista ja niihin liittyvistä pullonkauloista Etelä-Pohjanmaalla, sekä luoda edellytyksiä vetytalouden ja vetyekosysteemin kehittymiselle ja toimenpiteiden käynnistymiselle maakunnassa. Hanke on Euroopan Unionin osarahoittama ja Vaasan yliopiston tutkimus- ja innovaatioalusta VEBICin koordinoima. Hanketta rahoittaa lisäksi Etelä-Pohjanmaan liitto ja projektikumppanina toimii Seinäjoen ammattikorkeakoulu. Hanke alkoi toukokuussa 2024 ja kestää kaksi vuotta. // The overall aim of the VEPE project is to produce new insights into the opportunities offered by the hydrogen economy in South Ostrobothnia and to identify potential bottlenecks. The project also aims to create the preconditions for building the hydrogen economy and ecosystem in the region, and to initiate development activities. The project is co-funded by the European Union and coordinated by the University of Vaasa’s research and innovation platform VEBIC. Project partner is Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences and cooperation partner is the Regional Council of South Ostrobothnia. The project started in May 2024 and will last for two years.
