Another busy week for microelectronics in the Northeast! Our tag line, "Power in Proximity", now includes a 3 hour drive to join the rest of theUnited States Department of Defense's Microelectronics Commons leadership across all 8 Hubs along withOffice of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering,Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, andNSTXL (National Security Technology Accelerator). A big thank you to theNortheast Regional Defense Technology Hub (NORDTECH),NY CREATES,University at Albany,Nicholas Fahrenkopf, and the whole team for hosting us and keeping us cool during the heat wave this week!Mark Halfman,Kelly J., and I had a series of engaging meetings regarding workforce, projects, Hub collaboration opportunities, and what is coming up later this year. We had a great add-on opportunity with Dr.Tim Morganwho joined us atMIT.nanoto get an update on the#NEMC-funded installation ofApplied Materialstools. It was only a 171 mile drive for those of you tracking space, not time. This included a roundtable discussion with members of our Advisory Group from theMassachusetts Institute of Technology(Tomas Palacios), Applied Materials (Eric Witherspoon),Raytheon(Timothy Hancock),Analog Devices(James Fiorenza), along with startupVertical Horizons.
