VeSage is a vegetable based cold-cut of high nutritional value, pioneer of a new category among cold-cuts. It is composed if healthy ingredients exceptionally, with herbs, spices and eggs added, which are responsible for the characterization of taste and texture. It is a perfect match with cheese and meat products in a sandwich, or on the side of other foods, and as opposed to fresh vegetables, it does not wet the bread. It is completely free of gluten, lactose, soy and additives, low on calories, and at the same time, has high amounts of vitamins and fibres, therefore VeSage is a perfect source of nutrients for vegetarians and individuals suffering from coeliac disease or lactose intolerance as well. There are two VeSage products available, a red and a green one, which are distinguishable by their taste as well. The red is characterized by peppers, tomatoes and carrots resulting in a piquant flavour of italian cuisine, the green product contains peas, spinach and broccolies and has a rather smooth taste, both types are complemented with their own seasoning. VeSage is not a meat replacer, but a product offering a more practical handling of vegetables. Besides, as it has high amounts of essential amino-acids, it is apt to counter the protein deficit of a vegetarian diet. Compared to raw vegetables, VeSage has a longer shelf-life: at 0-4°C it remains fit to eat for 2 months in intact packaging (150g).
VeSage is a product entirely developed by Hungarian university students, for everybody who cares for their well-being.
With VeSage, the student team of Szent István University, Hungary won the first prize at Ecotrophelia
Europe 2015 international product innovation competition lining up 16 teams of Europen countries,
also the team got admitted to the Berlin finals at Falling Walls Lab Budapest 2016 startup competition.
