VET-EcoLume

VET EcoLume, pioneers sustainable solutions by addressing light pollution through innovative vocational education and training (VET). Light pollution, a growing concern with detrimental effects on ecosystems, public health, and energy efficiency, demands a proactive and strategic approach. By developing a comprehensive VET curriculum for Light Pollution Mitigation Specialists, this project equips future professionals with the skills and knowledge to implement sustainable lighting practices that reduce environmental impacts and promote energy efficiency. The project’s core objectives include creating a cutting-edge curriculum, fostering international collaboration between Europe and Latin America, and advocating for policies supporting sustainable lighting. Through hands-on training, innovative e-learning platforms, and awareness campaigns, we ensure that educators, urban planners, and young learners gain the tools to address light pollution effectively. By integrating green and digital skills, the project supports the EU's Green Deal, fostering sustainable urban development and contributing to global efforts for environmental conservation. Our cross-cultural partnerships highlight the importance of knowledge sharing, ensuring that solutions are adaptable across diverse contexts. Aligned with Erasmus+ priorities, VET EcoLume emphasizes inclusion and diversity, ensuring accessibility for marginalized groups, including those with disabilities. Through collaboration with leading experts and organizations, we aim to make light pollution mitigation a recognized profession, addressing both environmental challenges and the labor market's demand for green skills.
