About The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program
The Veterans Consortium provides free legal services to help Veterans get the benefits they earned. Created by Congress and leading Veteran Service Organizations, such as The American Legion and Disabled Veterans of America, we train and mentor volunteer attorneys to fight for Veterans’ rights. The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program was founded in 1992 to provide free legal services to Veterans and their families, caregivers and survivors in federal venues free of charge. During its 30+ years of service, The Veterans Consortium has provided 84,000+ service members with free legal advice, taken on 7,900+ pro bono cases for qualifying clients, trained 6,700+ attorneys for ongoing pro bono work for veterans, and succeeded in 83% of cases. Attorneys interested in providing veterans with pro bono legal services can: -- Receive training in veterans law: bit.ly/VolunteerForTraining -- Take a case before the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims: bit.ly/VolunteerForCAVC -- Help veterans restore their honor after an "Other than Honorable" discharge bit.ly/VolunteerForDU -- Support veterans applying for naturalization through military service: bit.ly/VolunteerForNaturalization -- Women attorneys can help women veterans and survivors of Military Sexual Trauma with a range of legal needs - bit.ly/VolunteerForWomenVets -- Veterans can connect with a lawyer here: bit.ly/LawyersForVets -- Anyone interested in supporting veterans can donate, and sign up for the newsletter bit.ly/VeteranNews.
