Viacure is a Munich-based bioscience company dedicated to the development of regenerative therapies for the causal treatment of type 2 diabetes.
As a spin-off from Helmholtz Munich, Viacure is based on a groundbreaking scientific discovery: the inceptor - a receptor that inhibits insulin action in beta cells. By specifically blocking this receptor with therapeutic antibodies, the regeneration and function of insulin-producing cells is restored.
Our approach goes beyond the mere treatment of symptoms. We are tackling the cause of type 2 diabetes - with the potential to sustainably improve the quality of life for millions of sufferers and at the same time reduce the economic costs of this chronic disease.
